Our History

BELL Group was founded in 1986, following the acquisition of a palm oil mill in Batu Pahat, Johor. With our first venture, we began operating as a small business offering conventional crude oil milling services to oil palm smallholders, dealers, and estates. Since then, we have grown steadily and expanded into a Group of Companies with operations spanning different parts of the world.

In line with our initiative to spearhead the development of renewable energy and waste reduction technologies in palm oil industry, we have since established ourselves as a Green Independent Power Producer, commencing with an award grant by the EC-ASEAN COGEN Programme in 1995 to our subsidiary, Kilang Sawit United BELL, for the full implementation of co-generation projects. This marks the first time in history for a palm oil mill to receive such a grant.

Further in 2003, BELL Group was awarded a grant to embark on a biomass power project from EC-ASEAN COGEN III, and in 2006, BELL Eco Power Sdn Bhd was established to undertake a combined Biogas and Biomass power project for renewable energy and to kick-start the creation of the first Independent Green Power Plant in the palm oil industry.

With the rise in technological breakthroughs in downstream value-added oleo chemical processing, BELL Group founded Liasari Sdn. Bhd. to manufacture and market a full range of all natural and green palm-based skin care, body care, toiletry and soap products under the brand LIASARI, the world’s first totally green and natural palm-based personal care product.

Subsequently, BELL Green Soaps & Amenities Sdn. Bhd. was established to cater for contract manufacturing of palm-based soaps and amenities for the international market.

As we continue to build our efforts in contributing towards the improvement of society, to achieve a better tomorrow, for our customers, employees, business associates, and society at large, we are constantly guided by the same core principles and values that have continuously served us well since our founding.
